Second floor build over garage Monday March 2nd

Today was unbelievably cold. I thought that they wouldn't get this far. They have added the trusses from the gable end of the old second floor, and sheathed the roof. As you can see from the photos, there are two micro lam beams: one that is at the end of the new trusses, up in the air, and one on the ceiling of the second floor supported by the inner and outer walls. Now, if you understand the plans then you can begin to see how they are going to make a complex roof: rather than have the truss continue across the top of the house, and make the house look very long (and added onto), this area has a gable end facing the front of the house. The gable end will have a smaller gable inside a large gable. The large gable's peak will start at the beam suspended in the air. In order to complete the second floor roof, a dormer type of roof will run from the front to the back of the hose along the right hand side of the major gable. Look at the intended design posting and you can see this in the design.
