You can see where the door was in the laundry room. The area below the framed out window was originally a separate piece that was used to pass the insulation inspection. It was sprayed with the urethane foam, then removed for the door. When they framed for the window and eliminated the contractor entrance, this piece was cut and refitted for the new window.
This is the portion that was cut. You can see that the typical wall thickness of the foam is over an inch. This method offers great insulation form both an R value as well as a infiltration value. Air cannot get into the house this way.
