Garage update
This is a view of the garage from the corner facing the third bay. The entrance to the house from the garage is on the left. The door you see in the back ground is the single garage door on the side of the house. I have begun to paint the walls and ceiling. Note the Mitty poster on the wall. I couldn't wait to start hanging car paraphernalia.
The main two car garage door is located at the front of the house. From this angle you can see the brown door entrance to the garage from the front of the house. This door will eventually get replaced, as it is rotting around the frame. Again you can see the ceiling is in the midst of being painted

Finished- Kids rooms
This is the inside of the kids bathroom hallway, where they have there own linen closets. Each pair of kids has their own full bath. These closets are accessible from the bi folds in the main hallway, in the front of the house.
The kids bathroom hallway has access to the bath and toilet that are located between the rooms and the hallway, opposite the linen closets.
Each child is responsible for their own sink, and can close the pocket door between the shared bathroom hallway and their living space. Opposite the vanity mirror wall, is the child's walk in closet door.
This is one of the four kids rooms, in this case the hallway between the entrance door and the bedroom is on the left. The room sharing the bathroom area has it's hallway on the right.
Finished!- Hallway and Laundry room
This is a picture of the right side of the laundry room over the garage. This window looks out over the drive way. It is a bright and airy room. On the right you can see the counter for folding cloths.
The left side of the laundry room has a laundry sink, and washer and dryer. We raised the washer and dryer up 2' to have a good working hight.
This is one of 4 linen closets in the kids hallway that are located in the front of the house. The linen closets are accessible from the kid's side also.
The hallway is finished with the trim, flooring and paint. We just need to hang some pictures.

Trim and counter tops
Paint and driveway
Alot has happened since last updating this blog. We were on vacation and I have been super busy. This last week all of the exterior and interior painting has been finished. Additionally the third car driveway has been installed. This was originally going to be a blacktop driveway, but we are out of money for this project. Jim didn't want us to be without a driveway, so he had a gravel one installed.
You can see the original windows below with their brown and green window frames. I will be updating the windows when money is available and triming them out in white.
Interior progress: doors and vanities
All of the vanities were delivered. We in the master bath, facing south. There is some duct work that will need to go under the vanity on the right to heat and cool this bathroom area.
These doors are facing out the back of the house and divide the jacuzzi room from the rest of the bathroom. The pocket doors will allow the jacuzzi room to retain it's heat and steam when in use, while letting light through.
I am looking south, standing in the middle of the long kids hallway. These doors are the individual linen closets. They are bi-folds on this side and regular doors on the other. Each child can keep their towels, bed sheets, etc. here.
This is a shot of the indiviual sink vanities that wil be in each childs room. To the right of the vanity is a medicine cabinet.

Walking from the individual's room, through a private door, you enter the sink area. If you continue straight you will open a pocket door that slides to the right. This leads you into the shared area, where the individual linen closets are on the right, and the shared bath and toilet on the left.

Boucany progress Saturday April 11, 2009
This is now the "new" entrance for the renovations. Note the missing railing: All of the vanities, carpet and tile will come through here at the back of the house.
The decking used is a plastic composite. The railings are alluminum, and the post are extruded composite covers over the 4X4 pressure treated posts.
The vertical post will be removed, and the main supports will be the angled 2X6s. We wanted to cantilever it but we were already cantilevering the second floor out two feet. The boucany is about 4 ft and this would have been beyond an acceptable distance.
